11/1/2014: Dumping Snow and SEAHAWKS

As we signed off our blog on Friday night, we loooked outside to absolutely PUKING SNOW. This is what we have been waiting for the whole trip. This storm proceeded to dump 60cm of snow on the mountains and village and turned everything white.

We stayed up taking some photos and went to bed. Woke up the next morning to rain. BOO. Mother nature... rain melts snow. NO! However within about an hour of waking up and having breakfast, some of the biggest snowflakes we have ever seen started falling. Finally. :-)

We went down into the village and grabbed some groceries and snacks and headed back to our apartment. Our friend Leigh came and picked us up and drove us down to his house to hang out with him and Cory for the evening to spend the evening watching the Seahawks game and have dinner. We went via Creekside and grabbed stuff for dinner - and went to Function Junction to go to PureBread to grab bread to accompany dinner. Oh my goodness. This place is a must visit (either Function or Village store) - they have these brownies that are out of this world, and salted caramel slices that are so good, that they should be illegal. Also, the pumpkin bread was SO GOOD. In short - their food is good, and carby, and did I mention it's good?!

Leigh also took us up the end of their street and tested out the 4WD mode in their car. Fun times.

Leigh and Cory's friends Chris and Almira were staying with them too - and it was really great to meet them and spend some time with more Canadians. (Whistler is the Australian capital of Canada... just FYI).

It was the first time we have watched football (Grid-iron) and it was easy to follow at times - lucky we had people who were REALLY into it and could explain what was going on. Everytime Leigh would scream out SEA - we had to respond with HAWKS. He trained us well. We had an absolutely delicious dinner of Barbequed Chicken and Pesto Pasta. We ate so much that we were almost put into a food coma. Everyone had quite a few drinks. (I watched - haha) - Leigh and Chris had a bit of a House Music play off - trying to out-do each other with their favourite mixes. Haha.

Around 10.30pm we made and move and Cory and Chris walked us down to catch the bus back up to the village - when we got down the end of the street we were really lucky that the bus was passing. Cory waved it down and we hopped on. Yew! About half an hour later we arrived back at our condo and tucked ourselves into bed. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
